Il-Veduta is Maltese for ‘the view’, and what a stunning view it is! Perched on the edge of a hilltop just outside Mdina, Il-Veduta commands a view that stretches far and wide. The large premises with indoor and outdoor seating also has separate sections and other floors available for private functions. Extremely popular with visitors to the island at lunchtime, it is a popular haunt for Maltese regulars in the evenings. Il-Veduta opened twenty-six years ago and some of the local staff have been around from the very beginning. Large scale screens at each end of the restaurant showcase whatever big game happens to be showing, adding to the lively atmosphere in the restaurant.
Il-Veduta is renowned for its crusty delicious pizza and also for its hearty pasta dishes. Another favourite is the chicken curried rice with a divine blend of green apple, golden raisins, yogurt, mango chutney and coconut milk. Kickstart your meal with hot, crispy, spicy chicken wings with barbecue sauce. Enjoy the creamy baked cannelloni; large tubes of fresh pasta stuffed with minced local pork, spinach leaves, tomato sauce and drenched in bechamel sauce and Parmesan cheese. Enjoy a tender fillet of beef cooked as you like it, served with crunchy chips and accompanied by mixed salad. Sip a beer or a glass of wine and end the meal with a dessert from the selection on display.
