Emperor of India

This "authentic" Indian restaurant "cannot be missed".

Within 50 metres of reaching the Emperor of India restaurant, the aroma of Indian spices already permeates the air, forcing you to involuntarily quicken your pace in anticipation of the delightful flavours that await. Serving authentic Northern Indian and Punjabi traditional family delicacies since 1994, Emperor of India is Malta’s longest-established Indian restaurant. A small lounge area leads into the dining area through a décorative metal archway, where a warm colour scheme of gold, bronze and champagne complements pastel-hued murals and solid wood furniture.

Sourcing the best ingredients from India, the team behind Emperor of India is committed to giving its diners the absolute best representation of its country’s culinary treasures. The multicoloured, radiant dishes are served with a special homemade naan bread and rice enriched with delicious spices from India. The Chicken Rolls – a wrap filled with chicken tikka, onion and green pepper – and the Lamb Badami – lamb pieces cooked in an almond-based curry sauce – are always popular, but rest assured that every dish on the menu is a worthy contender for your next favourite. A variety of condiments accompanies each dish. For an exotic twist, try the mango lassi, a delicious, creamy drink crafted from fresh mango, yoghurt and milk — a healthy alternative for a non-guilty pleasure.
