Al sale restaurant

Boasts "plentiful food" and a "formidable team".

Positioned in Xaghra’s main square, Al Sale’s exterior tables and upper terrace offer charming views of the piazza and church. Inside are also two recently renovated dining spaces, mixing old stone, olive walls, comfortable seating and warm downlighting to provide a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. Al Sale is busy with locals at weekends, its popularity stemming from the passion of chef patron Christopher Pace, who strives to bring good food and service to his customers for a fair price. Although busy in the kitchen, you’ll also spot him front of house, greeting clients, making recommendations, and checking if everyone is happy. It’s an approach that gives al sale a friendly and welcoming feel, which is echoed by the servers, who are well trained and efficient but also show some personality.

Al Sale produces mediterranean dishes, cooked with a fresh light touch, as the kitchen uses olive oil and never butter. The menu here changes regularly, but the Crudo is definitely a crowd favourite. Fish lovers will also delight in the Seabass Al Sale. But why opt for one dish when there is a meat or fish chef’s tasting menu? Also on offer you’ll find pasta options, on-the-spot creations for anyone with dietary needs, and tempting desserts. To compliment your meal, ask about wine pairing, as the extensive wine list is also available by the glass!
