Osteria Scottadito

A place you "have to visit" for the "authentic Italian cuisine".

A homely feel with a touch of class gives Scottadito the welcoming factor that you’d expect from an osteria. Indoor and outdoor seating area in the piazza offers diners a delightful setting, which manager Emanuele Carloni and chef Michela Cappelli pour their heart and soul into. This typical family-run restaurant oozes charm and character. The dishes recall grandma’s classic meals with fine plating and attention to detail for truly delicate umami balances. It is a wonderful mesh of Gozo’s nest ingredients and Italy’s pure culinary excellence.

Every ingredient has a touch of Italy, such as the spicy, unfiltered olive oil from Pesaro, which complements a homemade focaccia at the start of the meal. The homemade Passatelli carry delightful sauces such as the Pescatore, featuring fresh shell sh and subtle notes of the sea. Osteria Scottadito’s focuses on locally-foraged ingredients for a dining experience like no other. Enjoy the galletto alla diavola is a chicken dish served spicy with crispy potatoes, the crispy porchetta right through to the perfectly-fried frittura di pesce featuring fresh shrimp and best enjoyed with a bottle of Greco di Tufo. For dessert, creamy Italian milk is used to prepare a light and dangerously addictive panna cotta, best served with a chilled glass of Moscato d’Asti.
