L’Agape

"Exceptional service", with "live music" creating a wonderful atmosphere.

Hidden away from the hustle and bustle, this beguiling osteria is nestled in the midst of enchanting Rabat. The name ‘L’Agape’ is inspired by the nearby catacombs, home to a number of Agape tables. Agape serves food that is seasonal and beautifully fresh. Locally-harvested natural ingredients create a delightful, unadulterated food reflecting the Italian influence. The ambience is relaxed and welcoming yet unassuming, with splendid personal service and excellent value for money. The art gallery within the restaurant provides food for the soul, and the generous portions ensure a truly fulfilling experience.

The menu is finely-curated, taking into account the freshest seasonal produce available at the time of year. Presented on a hand-written board brought to the table, the offerings tempt you with culinary selections that tantalise the tongue. Fresh cheeses and fine cuts of meat and salumi are presented in their glass cases, all hand-selected and imported by the knowledgeable owner. A typical selection of dishes could include the fried local rabbit, Slow Cooked Crispy Pork Belly, spaghetti with rabbit sauce, selections of freshly-caught fish, rib-eye steak, chateaubriand, and slow-cooked vegetables finished off with a fine choice of homemade desserts. A highly commendable wine list includes some superb Italian and new world options. Staff are happy to make recommendations should you require them.
