A "great place to go to eat outside by the sea", serving "mouthwatering and fresh food" and "desserts to die for".

Il-Ħnejja is a special find situated on the waterfront of Senglea. This restaurant is all about quality of food, presentation and execution as well as mouthwatering tastes. Il-Ħnejja features traditional maltese arches above the indoor dining area and also boasts two outdoor dining sections, one just outside the restaurant entrance and the other on the edge of the Three Cities harbour. Quaint and typical of local culture, Il-Ħnejja welcomes tourists to a Mediterranean kitchen and welcomes locals home.
The menu at Il-Ħnejja is short and sweet; focusing on delicate starters such as the breadcrumb octopus served tender, yet crispy, savoury yet sweet. This textural sensation is paired with a homemade harissa that elevates the flavour in a striking manner. Specialities such as the fresh lobster pappardelle served in a homemade lobster bisque and the selection of fresh fish and meat cuts make for the perfect main course. Order a side salad served dressed with fresh basil, olive oil and subtle garlic and don’t forget the Grana Padano chips tossed in herbs and garlic! Enjoy a glass of Chablis or Chianti with your meal and end on a chocolate fondant or white chocolate and hazelnut bomb.
