Da Nino Trattoria and Pizzeria is located to the left of a cul-de-sac overlooking Wied id-Dis. On a clear day you can spot Sicily in the distance. Exceptionally popular, Da Nino is one of the best kept secrets on the Island. This very successful, family run Trattoria specialises in genuine Sicilian cuisine with recipes passed down through three generations. Several trips a week are made to Sicily to ensure fresh produce. The main interior dining and bar area is emblematic of homely Sicilian charm. Two separate verandas adjoin either side of the main entrance, one of which is available to smokers.
The à la carte menu includes pasta, salads, mains, daily specialties or if preferred, hot snacks. Da Nino is also popular for its sumptuous and innovative oven-baked pizza. Antipasti includes a mixed platter for two, smoked salmon, and mushrooms in garlic. From the pasta selection, Nino’s homemade ‘tortellacci’ filled with sun dried tomatoes, ‘Grana Padano’, ‘Parmiggiano Reggiano’, pine nuts, ricotta and basil, definitely deserve attention. The seafood pasta with mussels, clams, shrimps and king prawns is equally tempting. Mains include fresh fish in season, a selection of choice beef cuts, and veal or chicken ‘cotolette’, all served with salad or hot vegetables, and roast potatoes or fries. Generous portions, fine wines, excellent service, and great value for money will entice you to return.
