Hidden behind a small unassuming door in a narrow lane which takes you past the entrance to the Marsa Sports Club, you’ll find a gem of a restaurant called Chukkas. Overlooking the Malta Racing Club, spend an afternoon watching horses from the comfort of light and airy dining areas on the first and second floor. The welcoming, informal atmosphere makes it easy to relax and enjoy the excellent, smooth and seemingly effortless professional service supervised by Martin, who makes all diners feel privileged to have been a part of such a wonderful treat. Children are made to feel welcome making this all in all, a great day out.
The menu is wholesome and offers a tantalising variety of delicious options and probably the best charcoal grilled meat in town. In addition to the menu there are a number of specials presented to the table on a hand written board. Soup of the day, fried brie and cranberry and duck liver pâté are fitting starters. Tempt yourself with the beef cheeks and the supreme Canadian black angus on the bone. Other temptations include Chataubriand for two, a crackling pork belly, USDA Flank and veal al limone. Desserts include crème brûlée and chocolate mousse. Portions are large and great value for money.
