The Barracuda, one of Malta’s longest established venues, has evolved into a trendy and chic fine dining restaurant. Situated in a lovingly-restored, early eighteenth century villa at the tip of Balluta Bay, guests enjoy al fresco dining in the warmer months. In winter, the fireplace and cozy interiors make for an ideal foodie night out on the town. It’s the ideal venue for entertaining, whether it’s friends dining together, a special romantic occasion, or entertaining a special guest.
Each dish contains only fresh and seasonal ingredients. To start choose from a selection of carpaccio and tartares as well as other starters including soups, foie gras parfait, pan-fried rabbit livers and pan-roasted octopus. The fresh pasta with cured pork cheek or with fresh lobster are an interesting choice and may be taken as a main. When it comes to the main courses, seafood remains a strong point with fresh fish and shellfish on display daily, perfectly cooked and flawlessly presented. The selection of meats from the main course menu are also a tantalizing choice with the fillet of charolais beef or the Iberian secreto (Iberian pork) being amongst patrons’ favourites. The lavender infused crème brûlée is as delightful as can be expected and the perfect way to complete your meal. The wine list is definitely worthy of note; a cellar of local, European and new world wines, as well as a selection of champagnes, are available.
