Amami Restaurant

"Well worth the experience". The "new kid on the block with tons of potential"

Situated on the waterfront of Ghadira Bay in Mellieha, ‘Amami’ has an enviable position overlooking Malta’s largest sandy beach and terrace tables to take full advantage of the views. The inside space is however at no disadvantage, with chic and well styled modern warm wood decor and quality furniture and tableware. At night low lighting levels create a cosy and intimate atmosphere perfect for couples or small groups of friends. A team of well trained staff from around the world are at work in the open kitchen, and deliver attentive table service, with everything combining to create the feel of a more international dining experience.
The menu here focuses on Japanese and Asian inspired dishes, and the knowledgeable waiters are happy to explain the dishes should they be unfamiliar to you, and to make recommendations on how much to order. There is a large fish sushi menu with mixed platter selections available, and vegetarian sushi is also a standard option (vegans can be catered for on request). The other specialty of the house is Japanese ‘Robata’ – meat skewers beautifully presented on a traditional table grill. Sashimi, vegetable rolls and tempura options are all available too, but do make sure to leave room for desert, as dishes such as the Green Tea Fondant or Passion Fruit Brulee are an unusual and tasty way to end your meal.
