Forming part of the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Agliolio is situated at the edge of Golden Bay overlooking the beach. Previously voted as one of the top-rated Child Friendly Restaurants in the Restaurant Survey, this restaurant is still a favourite with families. The interior is an open and airy space with large windows enjoying views of uninterrupted, rugged coastline. Wicker tables and chairs fill the terrace during the summer months surrounded by urns and planters filled with sculptural olive trees. The restaurant’s name comes from the classic Italian combination of garlic, olive oil and chilli.
The menu changes every six months yet there are weekly specialities of the house to choose from. There are starters for one or two persons plus a selection of healthy and tasty salads too. The pizza fritta is a fitting starter of deep-fried pizza dough with homemade pesto and tomato sauce. The chicken breast with pancetta and marsala cream is a fitting main course. A specialty would be the pappardelle with rabbit liver tossed in balsamic cream, finished with chives. For something more casual go for the pizza crudo e rucola with fresh rucola leaves, mozzarella, Parma ham and parmesan. Children are catered for with colouring and activity books available to keep them occupied. Desserts are freshly made in-house every day and include the Belgian chocolate brownie if you’re after something decadent.
