Hammett’s Monastik has just opened its doors on the Sliema Seafront. You can find the restaurant on the first floor of the new Land’s End Hotel and it serves continental European dishes. The kitchen uses 99% local produce, making delicious dishes of the ingredients that Malta has to offer. Besides that, almost all fruit and vegetables are grown using organic and biodynamic practices, taking care of the land and resulting in yummy and nutritious crops.

Sustainability is also the focus point of the wine list, working with suppliers who use sustainable practices. Most of the cocktail list is organic, creating extraordinary drinks that don’t leave a huge impact on the environment.

_The name Monastik was brought about by the inspiration of the way the monasteries work by growing and using their own food which is the purest form of sustainability.

If you’re familiar with the Hammett’s establishments, you will know that they work with a sharing concept. Rather than picking a main dish per person, guests are encouraged to pick multiple dishes that will be placed in the middle of the table to be shared. This makes dining a tasty, social experience.The interior of the restaurant fits well with the concept, using lots of natural materials. The restaurant has an open kitchen, green wall and a bar area and terrace with beautiful views over Marsamxett Harbour and Valletta.
