Open in 2016, the Marina VW restaurant is a great addition to the majestic and stately development of the Valletta Waterfront. Originally one of the Knights’ many vaulted storage facilities that span the length of the waterfront, the Marina VW is set in the heart of the walkway. The indoor dining room has distinctive contemporary stylish décor with parquet flooring and a seated bar area all set beneath the original imposing vaulted ceiling. One can also dine al fresco in equally stylish fashion in the tent opposite on the edge of the marina. The view of the three cities and beyond is unparalleled.
The copious menu allows diners to experience an unforgettable gastronomic journey. Starters offer antipasto, platters to share of charcuteri and cheeses, spicy lamb meatballs and a very palatable bowl of mussels. Pasta contains several innovative recipes including penne tossed in tomato sauce, basil, aubergine and ricotta salata and seafood linguine. The mains menu offers succulent cuts of meat from the grill including beef tagliata, a full rack of ribs, corn fed chicken and milk fed veal. Fresh fish is available depending on the daily catch. However, the sumptuous zuppa di pesce is a staple. Sides include fries, salad and a variety of sauces. Uniquely, the menu includes an unusual selection of homemade sausages. The wine list is extensive and includes champagne.
