Buddhamann is located in the Corinthia Complex in St. Julian’s. It has a minimalist decor, with an all-glass structure allowing for unobstructed views of St. George’s Bay while the myriad lights of Paceville and St. Julian’s make up their own colourful firmament. During summertime, the terrace is perfectly delightful as the refreshing breeze from the sea relieves from the stuffiness of the Maltese summer heat. In contrast, during wintertime when the rain is pelting down with a vengeance, the ambience is spectacular.
Buddhamann is about sharing good food, wine, company, and a love for the pleasures of the palate. The menu is infused with Asian elements, taking familiar dishes and re-imagining them, gently pushing you to open up to new and exciting ideas. Fresh oysters and a sophisticated selection of caviar awaits. Dishes from the a la carte menu include labneh b’ za’tar salmon and tuna tartar (marinated in miso and kimchi respectively – both on a crispy skin ) and Asian twisted garden cannelloni in a delicate cucumber, parmesan, tomato, orange and grain mustard vinaigrette. Baby calamari, Pad Thai noodles with coconut velouté, tandoori sauce, lime, chilli and coriander, and Gauci’s signature “lobster popcorn” with chilli chutney, spicy mayo, micro cress and black sesame seeds, are delectable. The wine list is equally playful and enticing.
