Mamma Mia sits snugly in the heart of the Ta’ Xbiex yacht marina. Constantly reinventing and redesigning itself, it enjoys an open-plan approach, allowing it to be fresh and airy when the weather permits, or cosy when the elements are less forgiving. Additionally, the view of the yacht marina makes for a delightful backdrop. Mamma Mia gets its soul from its amazing staff. These people act the way they do, not because they were trained to do so, but because they are genuinely nice people. Plus, they’re always in a good mood.
The menu is split into categories; starters, salads, pasta, risotto, grill, pizza, snacks and desserts. Dishes are abundant and satisfy the most demanding of appetites. If you’re watching your waistline, start with a Caprese salad and follow it up with pan-seared calamari marinated with garlic, lemon and fresh herbs. If you’re feeling voracious, go for a spaghetti rabbit or spaghetti octopus starter, and follow it up with the fall-off-the-bone ribs, or maybe the Mamma Mia special burger, which is absolutely spectacular. Or you could opt for the pork fillet, wrapped in pancetta with leek sauce. You’ll be happy no matter what. Make sure you try out the chocolate fondant. This is one place where you definitely need to book in advance.
