About the Guide
The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants, Malta’s best-selling foremost objective survey-based restaurant guide on the island, has just published the 12th edition including the latest 2011 survey results and Award Winning restaurants, is also available online.
The Guide, which is now in its twelfth year of publication, is now established as Malta’s foremost publication for lovers of good food. It is based on the reports and comments of regular restaurant goers who rate venues according to food, service and ambience.
Each year, more than 80,000 individual restaurant meals are surveyed by the public in our Restaurant Survey with only about 150 restaurants making it into the Guide each year. The very best restaurants receive awards at an annual Gala Dinner, which takes place in December and is known as the 'Oscars' of the local restaurant industry.
The guide is a comprehensive reference to restaurants, guiding locals and tourists alike to the good eating establishments thereby assisting eaters out to make the right choice according to their requirements. With 22 index sections and sections on Maltese Food and Wine the guide is an indispensable publication for all lovers of good food.
The Malta and Gozo Restaurant Survey
The annual survey assesses large numbers of local and visiting restaurant goers who contribute to the most current, objective and reliable guide on the Maltese islands.
We had a great response with 1700 people participating in the survey, dining out on average 2 times per week - 176,800 dining experiences in a year.
Of the survey respondents 58% are women and 42% are men.
